Some say humans have the 'potential' to foresee the future. Some claim that in concert humans can quite accurately visualize how things would be in the future. It certainly does seem that some humans in the past have dreamt up or visualized the future quite accurately.
So, who knows - maybe, just maybe some of the things mentioned here might just be fact not fiction in the future!! The Environment in a Years: I actually think that the environment would be in a far better place than it is right now.
I know it is hard to be optimistic about the environment, seeing how the developed and developing countries are at loggerheads on issues of climate change and how to tackle it.
However, years in the future, I see countries utilizing clean energy wind energy, solar energy, nuclear energy, perhaps a new, clean, as-of-now unknown energy source -- as opposed to fossil fuels. The reason for my optimism is that there is just no option before humans other than to switch to cleaner energy sources!!
Unlike the naysayers, I believe climate change is a FACT, and sooner or later, the naysayers would come around to this view, especially when they see undeniable proof of climate change in terms of very demonstrable, undeniable, drastically changed weather patterns.
A hundred years into the future, therefore, I see vast expanses of land all over the worldwhere wind farming projects have come up providing sustainable renewable energy. I see the vast majority of cars running on water yes - water indeedcausing no harm at all to the environment.
I believe the technology for this doesn't exist as of yet, although I've seen claims of cars running on water. The technology though, I believe, can be developed in the future. I see that the thing called "plastics" is extinct - people are using biodegradable materials instead thereby saving the Earth of the vast quantities of debris that just doesn't go away, whether in our oceans or on our land.
I see that there is no such thing as "paper" anymore - people therefore don't cut trees anymore. Not even for building houses - composite, unheard-as-of-yet materials have replaced wood.
I see that air travel years in the future is not via the same fuel-guzzling airplanes we have today. They have given way to alternate-fuelled airplanes, primarily powered by hydrogen-based fuel technology.What will life look like in years?
